 Record Name MUK128 River Swale North Bank. Cotterby Scar. Type C Species rich limestone ashwood with Yew and Aspen Clones.
 Record Description North Bank cliff (Main Limestone) 600m in length. Visible from the B6270 road and from the footpath which runs the length of the top edge of the Scar. Type Site C with Yew, Aspen, Downy Birch, Ash, Wych elm, Alder (river side), Sallows, Elder, Hazel, Bird Cherry, Dog rose, Downy rose, etc. Beech planted.  Additional Notes This fine cliff is the upstream limit in Swaledale (but at 360m is well below the altitudinal limit elsewhere in Swaledale eg on Oxnop Scar where ash and blackthorn are present at 495m) for ash, wych elm, and yew. Surprisingly hazel is present at 500m on Long Scar in Great Sleddale.
